Where are the Ainslie units and what are they close to? 

These units are located in the inner North about one kilometre from the City Centre and Commonwealth Park, and are within approximately three kilometres of significant tourist attractions such as New Parliament House, Old Parliament House, the National Art Gallery, the National Library, the Commonwealth High Court, Questacon and St Christopher’s and St Andrew’s Cathedrals as well as the Defence Force Academy and numerous Government Departments.

 The units offer proximity to the National War Memorial, which is only a few hundred metres away, and the panoramic views of the city, lake and environs from the Mount Ainslie lookout.  They also provide ready access to lovely bush walks in the Mount Ainslie area

 Canberra’s superior road system provides direct routes by car to other major Centres -  Woden (10 minutes), Tuggeranong (20 minutes) and Belconnen (15 minutes).  The public transport system also provides a good service from the apartments to these Centres.  Bus stops are no more than fifty metres of any of these accommodation offerings.

 Off-street and in some cases undercover parking is provided

 

How are the apartments configured and what do they look like?

 The AINSLIE apartments are all duplexes and are, in effect, semi detached residential units. All are completely self-contained and have either one or two bedrooms and all have internal laundries.  Each bedroom has a double bed as standard but the substitution of single beds can be arranged in some cases. 

 Cots, highchairs and foldaway beds are available on request.

What do the units include?

 Kitchen

Fridge, electric stove, microwave, toaster, electric jug, electric frypan, sandwich maker, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, saucepans and frying pan, teapot and coffee plunger, glass and plastic cookware, wineglasses and opener, salt and pepper shakers, washing-up equipment, tea towels, complimentary tea and coffee.

 Bathroom

Bath with shower over, toilet (toilet separate in most cases), vanity and vanity cabinet, wall tidy, clothes basket,  hairdryer, towels, hand towels, face washers, complimentary soap, shampoo and hair conditioner.

 Dining Area

Table and chairs, place mats.

 Bedrooms

Double bed with pillows, full linen suites, duvet and quilt, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers (most units), bedside cabinets, bed lamps, clock radio (CD player in some cases), iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner.  In the 2 bedroom unit one of the bedrooms has two single beds.

 Lounge

Settee, lounge chairs, wall unit, coffee table, side table, TV and stand.

 Laundry

Wash trough and cabinet, washing machine, clothes airer, clothes basket, mop and bucket, broom and dustpan.

 

What services are available?

 Bed linen and towels

Since all AINSLIE units have in-unit laundry facilities, changes of bed linen and towels are not offered.  However extra sheet and towel sets are provided to allow clients to launder these items themselves.

 Laundry

A bed linen and towel laundry service is provided by arrangement but there is a charge for this.

 Servicing of units

Servicing of units can be arranged at a charge of $40 per service.
